John Ogden (FS 51-56) sent in the following:
“I found this letter to me during my time at St Bees which you might find interesting for the next OSB mailing.
I had been recommended to take some photos of the rotary oven for treatment of the anhydride which had just been installed by Solway Chemicals which I believe was a subsidiary of Marchon Products. The school had the mineral rights for the anhydrite which provided a substantial income for it in those days. I think that the design of the oven was not for general knowledge and the 35 mm film was handed back to Solway following this letter. I can’t remember how much money, if any, I received for taking the photos!”
